LANSING — Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer issued an executive directive Tuesday aimed at curbing the wage gap between men and women working in state government. Hiring managers at state departments and agencies may no longer ask job applicants their current or previous salaries until after they make a conditional job offer, the directive states.
